Installing and use

Bats roost in a range of places depending on location, safety, food source and time of year. In summer the female needs to be in a warm dry place and in winter. When they hibernate, they need to be in a cool dry place. Most bats opt to live in structures like buildings as they mimic trees, yet they are often dark and cool. Bats are unable to bore holes in trees, they also tend to roost on trees or even in some cases in caves.

A bat box is an ideal way to keep them safe and encourage future generations. You can install them in your roof, under eves, or in a tree within your garden. A good tip is to look at dusk where they are flying and where they are roosting. Before long, you could help saving them as well as enjoying them on your TV.
